I made an error in typing Mary's year of birth.
It should have been 1849 and not 1949... However, her obituary states she was born in 1849 and her DEATH CERTIFICATE states she was born in April 1850... In the 1870 Census she was 20; in the June 1880 Census she was 31; in the 1900 Census she was 52; in the 1910 Washington State Index she was 61; and in the January 1920 Census she was 70... In all of the Census Records, she was married to or the widow of George Pettengill.

Mary was married only twice.... To George Pettengill from ca 1868 until his death in 1915... She married James A DeHart of Colville, Washington, in 1921, and her obituary is for Mrs. Mary DeHart and lists her surviving husband... J A DeHart...

Yes, her DEATH CERTIFICATE lists her parents as Wm. Pierson and mother unknown... HOWEVER, when she married James A DeHart in 1921, SHE gave her marriage statistics as this being her second marriage, father ABRAHAM PEARSON, mother's maiden name LUCY FRAZIER... I would think since SHE gave this information herself, her father was ABRAHAM PIERSON... Since her husband was the informant on her certificate of death and not having been married to her in her earlier years and never having known her parents, he may have given the wrong information..... Or maybe her father was Abraham William or William Abraham.... Who knows?

NOW, the inquiry that I posted was to try and find out who MRS. CHARLES RUSSELL is. Her first name. She is listed in Mary's obituary only as "a sister, MRS. CHARLES RUSSELL, of Kalamazoo, Michigan..." It also stated she had "two brothers, whose whereabouts are not known..." This is the ONLY clue I have to ANY siblings for Mary...

I would love to learn of the PIERSON side of this family. And find out about Mary's brothers and sisters and their descendants.
