From an 1864 marriage registration of dau. Helen (b.1845 in Sandstone MI) we have her mother's name of Matilda RAYMOND, father was John COLE.
Sandstone 1840 Census shows RAYMONDs farming near John & Matilda COLE's young family. On same p. 32, are farmers Abram Raymond, Samuel Raymond. Sheet 35 has Abraham Raymond Jr., William, Abijah, and Jason Raymond.
Since Matilda (Mattie/Tillie?) disappears before 1850 Census, would like to know to whom our Matilda [RAYMOND] COLE belongs. Date seems too early for a death notice or headstone but hoping a RAYMOND Bible or Will might mention her COLE children.
On 1850 MI census, Sandstone, Jackson Co. is husband John COLE (b. abt 1807 NY) remarried #2 bfr. 1850 to Hannah ? (b. 1827 NY). They moved to Everett, Newaygo Co. by 1860 through 1880 MI Census with children all b. MI (dates approx.)
