Searching for NIVISON family members in the IOSCO, CLARE, BAY county area. Ella Nivison Wilber lived in Bay City, MI in 1947. Her brother, William Nivison, died in Bay City in 1947. He was buried in East Tawas, Iosco Co., MI where he had resided for many years. The Nivison's came to MI from Tompkins Co., NY around 1872. Family members, other than Ella and William Nivison, for which I am searching are Levi, James, Margaret, and Charles Nivison. Other related surnames of the area are BOYLE, COON, DECKER, DUPLANTY, SMITH and HARRINGTON.
I have death certificates from Iosco Co., Michigan for William Nivison d. 1947, James Nivison d. 1936, Charles Francis Nivison d. 1938, and their father, Nathan Nivison d. 1907. All are from Tompkins Co., NY.
HOWEVER, my father, CHARLES FRANCIS NIVISON, was alive and well in 1938 in Wichita, KS. He married my mother, Lulu May Delzell, in 1909. Dad died in 1955, at the age of 92, in Wichita where he resided since his marriage and where I was born. He was born in Tompkins Co., NY, his brothers and sisters are the above AND his father was Nathan, mother Ann Boyle; the same as the above mentioned Nivisons. Who is this Charles Francis Nivison who died in 1938 and where is Levi??
I found William, James and Charles? living together in Baldwin Twp., Iosco Co., MI on the 1920 Census. Was unable to read a poorly filmed 1910 and 1900 Census for Iosco Co.
