Hi , This is an old thread, but did you ever find out the info on the Boys Training School? BTS we called it. I went to Eastern High School and graduated in 1960 and the school was still in operation. It closed down some years later, but I can't find any info on line and don't recall the exact time. The field house there is now called the Don Johnson Fieldhouse (my asst principal and enforcer) and there are plans to raise money for a new stadium on that property to serve Lansing Eastern and Catholic Central. My dad and his brothers grew up in a somewhat similar institution in Louisville, KY before 1935.
