Sue - Mr. Defrain is no relative either. He is a Vet. of
WW II as were his brothers and was a basketball coach in
H.B. He's retired and for some reason, all inquiries from
families that come into HB (No genealogy group) go to him.
He lost his wife a few years ago so now he has 26 scrap books on his dining room table. He has files and files and pictures and people leaving him things all the time. I am trying to work with him on getting a genealogy room next to library so things can be organized there and WITH a computer - He's just a really nice person and tries his best (without a computer)to find items, copy them, mail them and it's amazing how far he has gotten. So now you understand why Selfridge A/F Base contacted him. He feels there should be a movie made of Louis and his air force life. Did I tell you Louis' wife met him in the
Philippines and when she left, he was leaving for Korea
and when she finally landed back in the USA - someone had to
tell her that he was gone. I will know more on Tuesday.
