Alicia- Interesting. His last name was spelled Puro, shortened from Kähkipuro an OLD country surname, I just assume the Buro was a typo! :) Also, it's going to take a little bit of research. I'm not sure who Alex Joki is, I'm considering the age, a cousin?, and when Jacob first got here, he was greeted by Elias Joki, a very popular pivot person in our family who was willing to pay for anyone's passage over from Finland to the USA. Maybe a cousin or son of Elias? There is a group picture I'm going to have to look at, I think I remember an Alex, but I'm not 100% at the moment. Ironically, Jacob's grandfather is named Jacob Puro as well- I think you have the right one, but I'm trying to figure out how Jacob would be the grandson of the household member. When I first started researching, the two Jacobs were circling each other, and changed their names at the same time, the dates were confusing but I finally found someone who could confirm the two, and how to diffrentiate. Single sounds very possible, I believe that Elviira was his one and only love. 1905 is the correction immigration date. The only thing confusing besides the grandfather/son thing is the children's names. It may be a cousin's children. WOW- regardless! Let me chew on this, I was just getting ready to walk out the door, and I'll do a little research. I appreciate your looking, this definitely puts things in a new perspective. Price County, eh? AH HA! I can now tell the family I told you so, and I bet this is where MY grandmother and grandfather met- the family disputes this so badly- they couldn't stand my grandfather. (Jacob is my grandmother's father). Thank you, and I'll let you know what I find! Keittää Notify Administrator about this message?
