Posted by: steve (ID *****9686) Date: April 02, 2007 at 16:23:16   of 572 Does anyone know how prevalant private burial plots -- those outside of cemeteries -- were in the Houghton County area in the time between 1900 and 1920. I've heard that it was not uncommon for families that lived on farms in the area to bury family members on their own property. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
