TRUMAN CLARKE BAKER, born January 27, 1827, at West Troy, N. Y. (son of John James and Catherine (Wright) Baker); married July 4, 1855, at Wright, Mich., Sarah Ann Gier, born about 1834, at Belmont, Ohio; who died October 30, 1910, at Ransom, Mich. He died April 6, 1912, at Kalamazoo, Mich. Enlisting in the Navy, at the age of nineteen, he served three years on the “Brandywine” and “Congress.” Alter his discharge he joined his parents at South Sodus, N. Y.; and in 1854, removed with them, and his brothers, to Michigan. As a member of Co. “K”, 27th Mich., he served during the Civil War. and was honorably discharged at its close. CHILDREN I. Meldon J. Baker, born October 20, 1856, at Ransom, Mich., married Ella N. Black. II. Addle 0. Baker, born January 29, 1859, at Wyandotte, Mich., married Morrel Northrup. III. Frank E. Baker, born August 20, 1861, at Ransom, Mich., married Lillie McConnell. IV. Maggie A Baker, born January 4, 1869, at Ransom, Mich., married Edwin C. Holmes.
