Thank you for responding. I do not have a confirmed connection, but the there may be a relationship. My grandmother's death certificate has her mother as Carlesta Worden born Gratiet County. In the 1900 Census, it shows her residing in Isabella County (along with her daughters Lottie and Bertha) and J. Lavanway with a birth date of 1861. Lottie's father was John D. LaVanway. In researching the LaVanway family name, I have also traced them back to New York. Recently it was identified to me that there also has been a query for a Joanna LaVanway who married a Lorenzo Dow Worden. In the 1900 Census, it indicates that Carlista's father came from New York. Unfortunately I do not live in MI, so my research is difficult. A birth or death cetificate for Carlesta may show the connection. I believe she died in Isabella County.

Thanks again. David A. Taggart
