James Carr - Saloon Keeper - 1870s - Meredith - Clare - Harrison - MI

Hello,

My name is Connor Coyne. I'm a graduate student in creative writing at New School University in New York City, but I'm originally from Flint.

I'm posting here today because for part of my thesis project I'm writing about a lumberjack who became a saloon keeper, James Carr. James is a historically real person who is best known for his saloon in Harrison, MI, but he opened a second saloon in Meredith. He lived in Meredith in the late 1870s.

If anyone could direct me to information on James Carr, or refer me to a good source of information, I would be most appreciative.
