Gail, would be glad to help however we can. While there were no official records pre-1868, there were still church records and other civil records that would obviously be of help to you.
Also, Gladwin was formed in 1837, so records are very likely up there. If you can post where you're at with your research, would be glad to pull whatever's available from the churches, cemetaries, state and federal censuses, and detailed biographical sketches and historical writings about the county. Anyone living there before Michigan became a state is noteworthy, and may even have an abstract on file with the Pioneer Society through the Michigan State Historical Society.
