Hi Pat,
Thanks so much for all this information. From what some other correspondents have told me, it is more likely that this James came to NY c. 1834, as an infant. I do believe the James in Mt. Morris is who I am looking for. He would be my great grandmother's brother. If parents were named it would confirm this, but he is of the right age, born England and is a carpenter on census which is what he father was. I appreciate the death dates for James and Margarett and marriage dates.
