Hello: I would like to find someone researching this family, and may have a photograph of Clayton, Jessie, and Howard to share with you. According to the 1920 US Federal Census, Clayton Williams (age 27) and Jessie (Johnson) (age 28) were living in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, MI, with sons Howard (age 2) and Chester (age 1-3/12). I also find the family living in Battle Creek in 1930, also with children Howard J. and Chester L. Age at first marriage was 20 and 22, so about 1912(?). Jessie was the daughter of Stephen B. Johnson (middle name most likely "Burr") and Emelia (Crandall) Johnson, who are my gg-grandparents. Jessie's sister Addie Johnson married my g-grandfather Frank M. Sheldon, and through a connection of sister/mothers (Frank's mother was Adaline Crandall), they were first cousins. I have a good amout of research on both our Crandall and Johnson ancestry. Although Clayton (1 Aug 1892 - 1983, dob per WWI Draft Registration Card) and Jessie (1890 - 1980) lived in Calhoun County, they were laid to rest in Bosworth Cemetery, Section 4, near Jessie's parents, a cemetery which is in neighboring Eaton County near Olivet. There is a Jessie Williams in the Social Security Death Index that is most likely an exact match: Name: Jessie Williams SSN: 366-68-5746 Last Residence: 49017 Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan, United States of America Born: 24 Oct 1890 Died: Jan 1980 State (Year) SSN issued: Michigan (1973 ) If this looks familiar, I would enjoy hearing from you.
