http://www.exploringthenorth.com/sandpoint/light.html The Delta County Historical Society's Museum, Archives, and Lighthouse (12, 16, and 18 Water Plant Road respectively) are located on Sand Point about three blocks to the East of the Delta County Courthouse (310 Ludington Street). Technically, the Museum and Lighthouse are closed for the Season, but there is generally someone at the Archives on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 pm (Call Ahead 906-786-3763). There is also an email contact at the bottom of the page which I linked to above. There is also the Delta County Genealogical Society's Archives located in the Escanaba Public Library (400 Ludington St.) in the back-half of the Escanaba City Hall (410 Ludington St.). The archives are located in the back corner of the Library; they will direct you. The Library also has some fairly extensive Microfilm records. On Tuesdays and Thurdays, the Genealogical Society has someone available to help with research in the Society's section of the LDS Family History Center located at 1021 South 14th Street (906-789-0370); they have a more extensive Microfilm and Microfiche collection as well as the IGI and reference Library. http://www.grandmastree.com/society/index.htm There are also three regional Cemeteries within a relatively small area; Lakeview and Holy Cross both within the city limits and Gardens of Rest just north of the city limits of Escanaba. There are several others scattered around the County depending on what and who you're seeking! Some Hotels: http://www.adventuremichigan.com/delta_county_hotels.html If you have other questions, feel free to email me; the email addy on my profile is current. I am a member of both the Genealogical and the Historical Societies of Delta County. Notify Administrator about this message?
