Jeff,
My name is Sam Buitendorp.....my Uncle was Lewis Phillips
of Riley Township MI (he was married to my mothers sister Mabyn)I am the third great granson of Philip Philips. Philip had a daughter Lucinda and she married Samuel Buel Dayton. The Daytons moved from New York state to Michigan (long before the Civil War. I believe Philip eventually came to MI as well. I am trying to figure out if my Uncle Lewis was any relative of third gt. grd.father.

Lucinda Phillips b.1817
My Uncle Lewis was born in 1885.
