Hi D,
Sorry, I was not meaning I had found your Mortemer Jones,
only that I had not found his name listed in the index for the
Jones-Beach Cemetery. Again, I am sorry for any mis-understanding.
The cemetery is located in Essex Twp., Clinton CO., on Wacousta Rd.
approximately three miles south of Maple Rapids.
As to the Jones-Hoovers, two daughters of Jacob HOOVER and
Cynthia AGUE, each married a JONES. Although both were farmers
and a lived in the same area, they are unrelated as far as we have
found as yet. One daughter, Cythnia A., named after their mother, married
Charles E. JONES, son of William JONES and Mary C. BEACH.
This is my direct line and I have no record of a Mortemer Jones among them.
Cnythia A.’s sister, Christine J., married Leroy C. JONES [1849 – 1913] the son
of Silas JONES and Laura BOTTOM, with the nick-name Rod, for some odd reason.
Leroy and Christine had six children: Earl D., Orin F., Edna C., Maude A., Sarah and
Laura M.
