I too have lived in the same areas. As far as I have found, my Jones family is not related to any of the Alexanders here abouts, which is not surprising since Sally was originally from CT, I believe. Just a thought, I did check through the Jones-Beach Cemetery, but sorry, found no Mortemer Jones listed there. It is located in Clinton County. There were two un-related Jones's that married two Hoover sisters, one of which is my line. Sorry, I do not know the other line very well, but perhaps yours is would be related.
