I am looking for information on Alex Peterkin and his family. I believe he was born about 1854. The first I find him (at least I think it is him) is at age 26 in Sault St Marie, Chippewa in 1880. He is listed as a female but I think this was an error on the part of the census taker. He is with an Aron/Aaron Scott. I think Aaron Scott was married to his sister, Jessie Peterkin. In 1900 he appears in Dafter Township, Chippewa with wife, Eliza, and children: Elmer, Leslie, Olive, and Cora. He's shows up again on the 1910 census. I found a reference to him on the Political Graveyard site. It says: Alex Peterkin of Sault St Marie Chippewa County, Michigan Member of Michigan Prohibition Party State Central Committee 1919 - presumed deceased, burial location unknown. I am actually researching the family of Aaron Scott but information on Aaron and his wife Jessie is very limited (until they show up in Muskoka, Ontario in 1870). Aaron appears there in the 1870 Canadian census. I assume he is working in Michigan in 1880 because he is back in Muskoka with his wife and children in 1881. A bit complicated to say the least. In any case, I would be interested in any information that might be available on Alex Peterkin in Sault St Marie, Michigan. I assume he died and is buried there. Thanks very much.
