There are Morey families in our county. In fact, there was a Daisy Morey and her 14 year old twin brother who are buried in our cemetery. She was killed one day, and he committed suicide the next. After puzzling this one awhile, I came across a court record that told of her stepfather being held for her murder. Her brother must have been so distraught he killed himself.

There was also a Morey who worked in Charlevoix for Social Services and recently moved to the Upper Penninsula.

And, guess what? My grand niece is dating a young man whose last name is Morey from Petoskey.

I am the City Clerk in Boyne City. If you would like any more information, my number at work is 231 582 0332, or write to me at 319 North Lake Street, Boyne City, MI 49712.
