I am interested in your Nathaniel Blackmer's ancestry. I descended from a different Nathaniel Blackmer who also had a son Nathaniel Jr. I don't think either are your Nathaniel, but as they lived in Western NY before coming to Michigan it is likely that they are somehow related. I never followed up on your Nathaniel as I knew he was not in my line. BUT I am curious. Can you tell me anything about him or his ancestry that you have found? Most Blackmers in the US and especially in Michigan seem to trace their ancestry back to William Blackmore who was born in England and died in Massachusetts roughly around 1676. Some of his descendants started using the "Blackmer" spelling while others continued to use the "Blackmore" spelling. There is a website devoted to his descendants:
