Well Cuz, UPDATE!! I have good news..I am fairly sure..LOL I done a little more digging and found a hint in a bio of your great-grandfather James G. It said he was reared by an uncle until he was 18 yrs of age. So I looked at the 1870 census and there he was in the home of George and Margaret Hayden. The census had him as James C rather than James G. In George's obit it mentions a nephew, James. Well, George and Plary were sons of Noah and Ruth so that means Joseph G was their brother and they had a sister Rhoda. She married Salvador T. Read. Georges obit also mentions William W. McIlvain as a nephew. He was a dry goods merchant in Cass in 1880. Williams father was Moses and his mother was Charity. Maybe Charity was their older sister being born in 1801. She would have been 19 yrs older than Joseph G. Thats a lot of years between siblings unless Noah had her by a first marriage. That one is a puzzle. Well, just thought you might like to know I finally solved that little mystery.

Thanks for proding my curiosity enough to make me dig more. If you need anything you think I may have, please ask. It would be easier if I could send to your email and be able to send any images or pics you might want. Mine is
