A short article about JUSTUS GAGE 1805-1875 has been posted at the blog, Hill Country of Monroe County, Mississippi, link:

The article provides links to an essay Mr. Gage wrote in the 1850s about his farming operation in Michigan and quotes the materials about the farm house he built. Additionally there are materials about his family and references to his life and works.
If anyone in Cass County knows if the 1850s Gage house described in the article still exists, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
