The 1870 census for Cass Co MI. shows Daniel living with son John and family, ae 85. Ancestry World Trees has the following as his ancestry;

Daniel Shellhammer b 11 Feb 1786 W.Penn, Schuyler Co. PA, died Oct 30 1884 Porter, Cass CO. MI. married Mary Boyer b Oct 10 1789 Exeter Berks Co, PA, d Mar 31 1869 Cass Co. MI, sons Johannes b Nov 23 1818, and daniel b Sep 19 1820;

Son of Phillip Jacab Shellhammer b 22 Feb 1759 Heileberg Northampton Co. PA, d Nov 2 1836 W.Penn Schuyler Co. PA, marriedMaria Dement/Donnat b 24 Aug 1769 Albany Berks Co. Pa. died Oct 10 1853 W.Penn 10 children.

son of Hans George Shellhammer b ca 1727 Rhineland , Palatine Germany d 1797 Penn Northampton Co PA and Anna Margaretha ( ) b abt 1727 Rhineland , d Aug 1798 Penn Northampton PA. 7 children.
