From The Alma Enterprise, Alma, Wabaunsee Co., KS, Friday September 28, 1894, page 8:
LAPHAN - Died, in Wabaunsee, Sept. 10th, 1894, Katherine L. Laphan Taylor, aged 41 years and three months.
Deceased was born in Berrien county, Mich., June 10th, 1853. She moved to Wabaunsee with her parents in 1855. She was converted in Topeka, two years ago. She departed this life after an illness of many months. The funeral was coducted Tuesday, Sept. 11, by Rev. W. L. Morris, at the residence of her mother. - Wamego Agriculturalist.
