I found some info on Carpenters living in MI in some old records belonging to my g-g-grandma Virginia May "Mamie"Burnham McCormick Mitchell of Buchanan, MI. Although my gma remembers an "Uncle Sant Carpenter" she is unsure whether or not there is a real blood relationship or just a friendly term of endearment. Either way there are some birth, death and marriage dates listed for:
Sanford "Sant" and Pansie
Amos E.
Martha
Orpha ?

If any of these Carpenters are related to you, I can give more details.
