My gg grandfather's stepfather was a John Lords. I find him in the 1850 Michigan census in Camden twp. Hillsdale co.
John Lords 63 farmer b.Maine
Polly Lords 55 b. NY
Ira Lords 19 b. O
Reva ann Mccarty 16 b. NY
Mary M Lords 16 b. O
Perry Mccarty 13 b. NY
Jeanette Mccarty 11 b. NY

The Perry Mccarty is George Perry Mccarty my gg grandfather. He married Alma Roush dtr of Michael Roush in Kent co. mi in 1862. In 1870 they were living in Bowne twp Kent co. mi (near Freeport Barry co. mi).
His mother Polly Lords was from Cayuga NY. Possibly the town of Victory. We believe her 1st husband may have been James Mccarty also of Cayuga co. NY. He died abt 1844.
I also found John and Polly in a Steuben co. Ind census but I don't have that in front of me.
Is this your John Lords?
