Heritz family circa 1900 info needed

A recent obituary for Lydia Heritz says that she is the daughter of Carl Heritz (my Great Grandfather) who married married Julianna Rinas. The Berrien County, MI marriage index shows a 1903 marriage for Carl and Julianna Rinos. The obituary also says Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters - Ida Heritz and Elsie Burkhard; and a brother, Henry Heritz (my grandfather). She is also survived by a sister.

However, I have no information on Carl Heritz. It may be that his marriage to Julianna was his second marriage because Henry Heritz's mother's maiden name is supposed to have been Vigansky and his birth pre-dates the Heritz-Rinas marriage by three years. I've written to Lydia's surviving sister, but if anyone else know anything about this Heritz family or the other Hertiz families in or around Berrien County around 1900 please let me know. Thanks in advance.
