I have been trying to find out more about my ancestor Edward J.C. Ellis. I know he graduated from Dartmouth in 1890, that he died in University Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI in 1925. I know that in 1924 he was listed as a practicing physician in Benzonia, MI with his alumni association at Dartmouth. He is buried in the Benzonia Township Cemetery and his headstone says he was 64. I know that he helped my Grandmother plan a diet for her first husband that helped him live five years longer than expected with diabetes before insulin. I know that he helped my uncle who had asthma as a child to become a healthy adult by having him swim daily in a cold lake somewhere in that part of Michigan. I was wondering if he had any papers published in the area or if there is any information about doctors practicing during that time. I don't know if he had any children or not. He had a brother Benjamin Henry Ellis who lived in Mississippi and he had three sisters Louisa Chisholm, Anna Hamilton, and Francis Clark.
