Louis Reno (m. Josephine Duford), Canada to Bay County, MI

Hi, all -

I am trying to find information on the birth family and, hopefully, the ancestors of Louis Reno, who is my great-great grandfather. Here is what I have:

Information provided by my aunt indicates that Louis Reno was the son of Oliver Renaud, born about 1830 in Canada (Montreal presumed). I do not have the name of Oliver's wife or any other children they may have had, and I have no further information on Oliver or his birth family.

My research indicates that Louis Reno was born in 1848, and died in 1932 in Garfield Township, Bay County, Michigan. Although my family tells me that Louis came to Michigan from Montreal, the only independent information I have found so far indicates that Louis was born in Greenville, Ontario, Canada.

Louis was married to Josephine Duford in 1879 in Bay County, Michigan. Josephine was born in 1865 (Quebec, Canada presumed) and died August 3, 1898, presumably in Bay County, Michigan. It appears that she died in childbirth, as her 8th child, Marvel Reno, was born the day that she died. Marvel died about 6 months later.

Among Louis and Josephine's other children was my great-grandfater, Joseph Reno, born in 1888 in Beaver Township, Bay County, Michigan and died in 1985 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan. He was married to Mary Endline in 1909 in Bay City, Bay County, Michigan, when Mary was 14 years old.

Mary and Joseph had three children, one of whom was my grandfather, Harold George Reno (1911-1993).

If anyone has additional information about Louis Reno, his birth family or his ancestors, please take a few moments to respond. I'll be happy to share what I have, as well.

Thanks so much for your help!

Kellie O'Toole-Lee
