I appreciate the kind referrals. I have used all of those sites and have found them very helpful in continuing to eliminate false leads and to find records of Kahlers in the Michigan area from 1870 onward. None of the records in Michigan have been able to give me information about William Kahler before 1870.

Presently, I am right back where it all started in New York. I have researchers there looking for birth, marriage, death or church records. They are very slow to reply.
