Shann family

My maiden name was Shann and several of my ancestors lived and died in Allegan County. Am hoping someone recognizes the name and can help me figure out some puzzles. My great-grandfather was Joseph Shann (died 24 Feb 1884 Manlius, Allegan, Michigan), age 36 (married to Esther Hare) and my great-great grandfather was Matthias Shann (died 7 Apr 1897, 76 years, Clyde Twp, Allegan county,Michigan).

My puzzles are: 1. What relationship was there with the second Matthias Shann (who went by Matthew sometimes and was married to Rosetta (Rosella) Ferguson. Matthew and Rosella had the following children (per 1880 census): Matilda, John, Herman, Frank, Leyse, and Ida
(2. Who was the William Shann who died 14 Jul 1886, Ganges, Allegan, Michigan? who was probably Iola).

Does anyone have information on any of these people or knows of someone who might? Information on the Shann family (or the Hare family) would be most appreciated. Thanks.
