Well I have learned that I have been searching for the wrong man as my ggf for the past 6 years so I begin anew...
What I have so far is that John Meyers (or some spelling variation of 1st & last names) married Anna Jxxxx in Hungary (maybe US) and they had several children together in Hoboken, NJ. They then moved to Hartford County, Connecticut where John may have died of consumption/TB c. 1915-1918.
I cannot find one single record of his existence other than a few census entries. I think 1910 may have been accurate but if the illness story is true then his presence in the household record of 1920 was fabricated. But I cant find a death record...
I dont know the customs of these people in these times...did they lie for whatever reason...taxes, public services????
