======================================================== SOURCE: Stevens Point Daily Journal - Stevens Point, WI - Saturday April 07th, 1900 p. 4 ======================================================== Mrs. Johanna Meyer died at 11:05 Thursday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. James Marshall, 302 Monroe Street. Mrs. Meyer has been ill for several months and since the death of her daughter, Mrs. Dehlinger, on Feb. 3rd, was confined to her bed at her own home on Elk street until about three weeks ago, when she was removed to the home of her niece. Mrs. Meyer was born at Wandsbeck, Hoistein, Germany, on Feb. 11th, 1826, her maiden name being Johanna Prell. She came to this country in 1848, living for a time in New York and later in Kentucky, coming to this city in 1867. She was married in New York to Frederick Meyer. Soon after coming here they purchased a farm in Shanon, WI near Ellis where they lived until about sixteen years ago, when they removed to this city, Mr. Meyer dying soon after. Their only child, Mrs. Dehlinger, died a few months ago and this fact seemed to increase the mothers infirmity. She had been troubled for some time with rheumatism and lately also developed a case of dropsy, which caused her death. The immediate relatives of the deceased are a sister, Mrs. Christina Kuhl, and two brothers, Gerbart and Henry Prell. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Friedens Church, Rev. Wm. Koch officiating, with interment in the Episcopal Cemetery. Mrs. Meyer was a woman of many good qualties and had a great many friends both in Sharon, WI and in this city. ================================================ I am NOT related to this family and I have no further information to provide. Sincerely, Denise Perkins Ready - Transcriber Notify Administrator about this message?
