Hi,here's some answers to your questions.Ignacio and Tomas were sons of Augustine Ortiz de Cortez and Maria Reyes dela Pena Maria's sister Batola dela Pena married Capt. Juan Crisostomo Ramirez.They were soldiers under Spain,for Mexico came into exsistance after 1820 Before then Region was Known as Nueva Espania,I believe this family came from one of Northern Province of Spain My Maternal Side the Urias were Basque from Viscaya,and Navarra,My Grandmother Older sister married Francisco Ortiz a decendent of Augustine Ortiz She was Angela Urias.
