I have been researching my Madrid family since 2001, with the help of a fifth cousin who did some research I have traced back to 1811. He lives in the El Paso area and did some research at UTEP.

You mentioned in your post that you have an extensive family tree dating back to 1700. Could you share some information with me if you have my family line in there.

Here is what I have:
My father: Gilberto Sanora Madrid born Dec 22, 1909 Jerome AZ, Married Virginia Andrade Comaduran born Sept 21, 1908 Imuriz, Sonora
Grandfather: Francisco Madrid born April 19, 1875 Guadalupe DB Chihuahua. May have been fathered by a man named Jose Loya (not confirmed at this time). Married Jacinta Mendoza Sanora born July 12, 1870 Magdalena, Sonora. Both settled in Jerome until 1922 when the returned to Nogales, Sonora
Grandmother: Tranquilina Gandara Madrid 1844 San Elizario Texas
Great-Grandfather: Jose Dolores Madrid born 1811 Socorro Texas. Supposedly one of the families that established Guadalupe, Chihuahua in 1849 after the Treaty of Hidalgo.

GUADALUPE, CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO (the town that Dolores Madrid and family helped settle)

“The town of Guadalupe was founded on the Mexican side of the Rio Bravo, in 1849, as a colony of Mexican repatriates to their national territory after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo; since they did not want to lose their Mexican nationality by staying in Texas or New Mexico".

Do you have any information that correlates with this or any names that you may have come across in your research. I will be continuing my research this year after a two year layoff period. My next step is census records at the Los Angeles downtown main library, further research from the LDS microfilm files, and any other sources.

Thanks
