Don't know about the others you asked about but Plymouth is a Cornwall port.I just heard from the other writer who responded to my previous letter, that our branch of Metters sailed from Plymouth to Canada and from there went by rail to Wisconsin.
Devon and Cornwall abut.I suspect that your Metters and our Metters may be somehow connected.Do you have any Burdens (Burdon or Burton) in your line?
Oh yes, didn't the Mayflower said from Plymouth -- or rather wasn't that the Pilgrims' original home prior to their taking a detour through Holland?
