Hi Gail: Thanks very much for replying to my post on this forum. It is always a pleasure to meet cousins that I haven't known. My "FTM" software tells me that your grandfather, William Claude Methvin and I are second cousins. However William was born 37 years before I was(quite a spread). I grew up on the James A. P. Methvin homeplace. My grandmother, Clifford Methvin Lokey, acquired it from her father, James Methvin. She passed it on to my father at her death in 1933, He sold the property in the early 50's. It is now owned by a fine gentleman, Matthew Self. My sister lives in Eufaula, AL, which is just across the river from Quitman Co. I do visiot the home place occasionally when I visit there. Have been trying to spruce up the family cemetery but it is slow going. It is badly overgrown. Others have shared their data with me and that has been a tremendous help to me. So; of course I will share. I am familiar with the Methvin Family web site. David Pierce has collected a lot of very good family data there. Again, Thanks for your reply. I will be sending you an e-mail note. Sincerely Burke Lokey Notify Administrator about this message?
