Hi Burke, I will tell you what info I have. First there is a Methvin website you might be interested in (if you don't already have it): http://www.scottsboro.org/~piercedc/jap%20methvin1.html Next I will try to explain to you the connection to the Methvins. It is a distant connection: Mary E. "Mollie" Castellow, b. 1849, Jasper Co., GA; d. 20 May 1889, Quitman Co., GA--daughter of: John Bryant Castellow, b. Abt. 1818, Quitman Co., GA; d. 1898, Rocky Mount, Elmore Co, AL.--son of: John Bryant Castellow, b. 1770, Barnwell Co., SC; d. 1857, Jasper Co., GA. Okay, from what I understand, my family either descended from this John Bryant Castellaw b. 1770, or his brother James Castellow b. abt 1773. It is still questionable about whether there was a James b. 1773--not much can be found about him. And, of course, over the last couple hundred years the spelling of the name Castellaw has changed because apparently some of my family was illiterate. Imagine that! haha If you look at that Methvin website, it may help you with the connection to the Methvin associated with Bonnie and Clyde(LA Methvins). There are also pictures of Methvins on this website. Hope this helps. Notify Administrator about this message?
