Hello,
My mother is Jennie Methvin Pinkerton. She was born in Sumter county GA 4/25/1912 and died 2/5/97. She was the daughter of James A Methvin who was born 2/5/1869 and died 8/16/1936. James A was the son of Benjamin J. Methvin and Barbara Elender Murphy. Benjamin J. Methvin was born 7/10/1843. He died in 1925. Barbara was born 12/19/1844 and died in 1921.Benjamin and Barbara had 8 children ; six boys and two girls George A,James A(my grandfather), Benjamin J Jr, John T,Emily A, Ellen E, Daniel A, and Lucius G.Benjamin is a descendant of a Nathan Methvin who immigrated from Scotland in the 1700,s. According to a hand written record I have that was prepared many years ago by John T Methvin,of 1063 Euclid Ave. Atlanta, Ga, Nathan migrated to Baldwin county GA from the Cheasapeake Bay area in Delaware.He had five children;Thomas, Benjamin,Joseph, Peggy, Cotton, and William L..This does not answer your questions but perhaps it will be of some help in your research. I did not know John T. (Terrell ) Methvin but my mother told me that he was the son of my great uncle John T.
