Hi Janice, Thanks for the contact. I have no concrete proof for children Thomas and Susannah. I always assumed they died as infants. I do have in my notes that James and Mary MAY have had a daughter Mary. You have a death date for her of Feb. 13, 1856. I am wondering if Susannah and Mary Jane could be one and the same?
I have a picture of two tombstones at the Little Britain Cemetery, one beside Mary/Thomas Spears' stone saying James Metherell d: Feb. 13, 1856. On the back side of Mary/Thomas Spear's tombstone it has James Metherell death date: September 27, 1857, aged 33 years as well as George A. Metherell death date: December 6, 1904 aged 40 or 46 yrs. (can't really read it from my pics.
I also have the 1901 Census for George Arscott, so I don't need that, thanks. On the 1911 Census I found daughter Mary Metherell and her husband. Your grandmother, Grace was living with them.

Margaret, I believe was a nurse at St. Michael's hospital on the 1911 Census.
I have very little info on the Metherells although a Spear relative has helped with the second family. I would welcome any assistance you are able to give me on this family. I have a fairly sizeable Blewett tree, but, I am always searching for more. Please contact me privately at: Glenda.Schneider@sympatico.ca so that we can share info.
