Probable, but not proven line of descent. I believe that the John Metcalfe who married Lydia Crutchley was born earlier, about 1642: John Metcalfe (1), Gent. who was transported to Maryland in 1634 on the Ark. He may have been born about 1605. He was a nephew of Anthony Metcalfe in England. He was still living in 1650: 16 Sept 1650. This George had children, but we have not yet found a record to confirm his family. His brother Gilbert, Richard, Thomas, and Peter are all found in mariner records. Richard & Thomas did not have children. There may have been a brother named John, but this has not been proved. George who traded in Maryland, may be a possiblity. George would have been born about 1640-1650. 1677. Alexander METCALF was transported to Maryland. Liber 1, Folio 442. .
