I had purchased a 2 volume set of "PALATINE FAMILIESof NEW YORK1710"by Henry Z Jones, Jr. and found my families ancestor in the Hunter Lists--# 543.I was very thrilled to say the least.So for those who are researching the Mesick family, here is what I found.Note that Mesick was spelled many ways---MUSIG, MUSIGER (in the Journal section 4 Oct 1710 ) MUSICK, MUSIK, MUSSIG, MUZIGH,MIESICK,MIESIECK, MYSICHS, MISICH, MISICHS,MESIECK, MIESIG,MISIG and MUSICK.

VEIT MUSIG
Veit Musig made his initial appearance on the Hunter Lists 1 July 1710 with 2 pers. over 10 years of age and 1 pers. under 10 years.Veil Musig was a soldier from Hunterstown in 1711 (Palatine Volunteers To Canada).Fiet Miesick was nat. 17 Jan 1715/16(Albany Nats.).Veit Mussig and Maria Catharina with 3 ch. were at Hunderston ca. 1716/17 (Simmendinger Register).Feyt Musik was a Palatine Debtor in 1718, 1719, 1921, and 1722 (Livingston Debt Lists).Maria Catharina, Susanna Catharina, and Elisabetha Mussig were on the St. Peter's Luth. Familly List (Rhinebeck Luth. Chbk.).Ffits Muzigh was a freeholder in the Northpart Livingston in 1720 (Albany Co. Freeholders).Fyt Musick is mentioned in a 1740 letter on Reel # 9 of the Livingston Papers.The ch. of Veit1 Musig and his wife Maria Catharina were:
1)Johann Henrich2,b. 29 Dec 1714- sp.: Henrich Heydorn (West Camp Luth. Chbk.).He md. 1st as a single man b. in the Camp and living at Livingston Manor 24 Nov 1739 Elisabetha Grad (Katsbann Ref. Chbk.).He md. 2nd 19 Sept 1748Anna Catharina Dieterick (Kingston Ref. Chbk.).The will of Hendrick Mesick of Livingston, yeoman, was dated 21 July 1794 and probated 27 May 1809 ( columbia Co. Will Bk. C).Henrich2 d. in April 1809, , and his wife Anna Catharina d. 20 Dec 1792, aged 65 yrs. (both Claverack Ref. Cem.).The ch. of Johann Henrich2 and his 2nd wife were:
i)Peter3 (Will), d. 27 Nov 1834, aged 84-4-19 (Claverack Ref. Cem.).His license to marry Christina Mowl was dated 26 Aug 1775 (N.Y. Marriage Lic.).She d. also on 27 Nov 1834, aged 81-7-16 (ClaverackRef. Cem.);Hudson Rural Repository gives 28 Nov 1834.
ii)Margaretha3, b. 14 Feb 1753-sp.:Marten Ham and his wife (Rhinebeck Flats Ref. Chbk.).Her license to marry Johannis Best Jr. was dated 14 Dec 1772 (N.Y. Marriage Lic.).
iii)Maria3, bpt. 12 March 1756-sp.:Feyt Miesick and Maria Cathrina (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).Her license to marry Jury Best Jr.was dated 25 Jan 1773 (N.Y. Marriage Lic.).
iv) Sarah3, bpt. 3 June 1759-sp.:Salomon Schutt and wife Sara Diderik (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).
v)Catharina3, bpt. 24 Oct 1762-sp.:Johannes Ham and Cathrina Coree (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).
vi)Elisabetha3, bpt. 22 April 1764-sp.:Jonas Muller and wife Lisabeth Diederick (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).
2)Thomas2(Loonenburg Luth. Chbk.).Thomas Miesick was a freeholder at Claverack in 1763 (Albany Co. Freeholders).Thomes and Hndrick Miesieck Jur. (sic) were in Capt. Johannis Van Hoesen's Company at Claverack 9 May 1767 (re-port of the State Historiian, Vol. II, p. 857).The will of Thomas Mesick of Claverack was dated 26 July 1782 and probated 7 Nov 1783 (Fernow Wills #1200).He md. Sybilla Michel (HJ), and they had ch.:
i)Elisabetha3, b. 23 Aug 1739 and bpt. at Veyt Mysich's house-sp.: Henrich Mysichs and Lisabeth Mysichs (Loonenburg Luth. Chbk.).
ii)Catharina3, b. 24 Sept 1740 and bpt. at Teerbosch-sp.:Jacob Misich and Lisabeth Misichs (Loonenburg Luth. Chbk.).She d. 10 March 1818, aged 79 as w/o Stephen Miller (Private Cem., Sand Lake, N.Y.).
iii) Henrich3, bpt. 6 Feb 1743-sp.: Hennerich Misig and Elizabeth, his wife (Red Hook Luth. Chbk.).He md, Maria Van Der Karr (HJ), and they had ch. bpt, at Kinderhook Ref. and Claverack Ref. Churches (HJ).The will of Hendrick Mesick of Claverack was dated 10 March 1801 and probated 31 March 1802 (Columbia Co. Will Bk. B).
iv)Veit3, b. 9 Dec 1744 (?) and bpt. 3 April 1745 at Jac. Hagedorn's-sp.: Cath. Mysichs and Vyt, grandparents (Loonenburg Luth. Chbk.).
v)Rosina3, bpt, 26 Aug 1747-sp.: Conrad Rossmann and wife Susanna (Germantown Ref. Chbk.).She md. Friederich Plattner 18 March 1770 (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).
vi)Johannes3, bpt. 28 Jan 1750-sp.:Nicolaes Neer and Barbara Michel (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).

4)Elisabetha2, b. 30 Sept 1722 and bpt. in Tarrbosch-sp.:Peter Schmidt and wife (N.Y. City Luth. Chbk.).She md. Jonas Miller 20 Oct 1741 (Loonenburg Luth. Chbk.); some entries are confusing, calling her Dieterich (HJ).
5)Jacob2, md. as s/o Veit1 26 Jan 1748 Catharina, d/o Henrich Mohr (Germantown Ref. Chbk.). Jacob Mesieck was a freeholder of Claverack in 1763 (Albany Co. Freeholders).The will of Jacob Mesick of Claverack was dated Feb 1774 and probated 7 June 1775 (?) (Fernow Wills # 1182).Issue:
i)Catharina3, bpt. 22 May 1748-sp.: Feit Miesig and wife Catharina (Claverack Ref. Chbk.).She md. Caspar Schieffer in 1765 (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.).
ii)Henrich3. bpt. 28 Jan 1750-sp.:Henrick Miesick and Catharina Diderick (Linlithgo Ref. Chbk.). he md. Engel Witbeck (HJ).
iii)Jacob3, bpt. 24 Nov 1751-sp.:Johannes Van Valkenburg and Geertruy de Lamettere (Claverack Ref. Chbk.).
iv)Johannes3, bpt. 23 Nov 1754-sp.:Jacob Vos burg and Jannitje Van Valkenburg (Claverack Ref. Chbk.).

There is a JOHANN JOST MUSIG listed in the Hunter Lists # 542
Although called Johann Jost Musig in the Hunter Ledger, he was Johann Georg Musiger in the Journal section 4 oct 1710 with 1 pers. over 10 yrs. of age; he was recorded 11 names from Veit Musig. (HJ).
I would be glad to do look-ups for any one who asks re: their Palatine ancestors from 1710.
