Hi Matthew, I am taking aquick look at my Meservey genealogy. The name LaForest I felt came from the Littlefield branch. Isabelle has a female line with a Frost and after that Frost and LaForrest appear. I could be wrong. I agree that your Ernest does not come down through Leslie, but Leslie's grandfather was Charles married to Sarah Sally Martin. Charles had a son named Charles that left a will and named siblings John, Timothy and Zelda. Timothy had a son named William C. His other children wer May, Waterman, Walter, willis, John, Sadie, and Wallace. All of this is in the Greenville, Piscataquis, Maine area and the Shirley, Piscataquis, Maine area. Zelda also had a William, but the last name would be Hamilton since she married a Hamilton. I will continue to look through my notes and see what I have about the Greenville area and the Meserveys. Guess I was wrong about the indian connection through your Ernest's spouse. I have not been able to find any connection to the indians. The story seems strong to not have a connection, but they tell me here at our library that if the indian did not register in the 30's there is now no record of being indian. Maybe some day we will know. Good luck in your search. Susan Notify Administrator about this message?
