Miss Mertz is Esther Mertz, wife of Ernst Fuchs, mother of Reuben Mertz Fuchs. She is also the sister of Johann Jacob Mertz b. 1774, and the daughter of Johann Jacob Mertz 1741-1811 and Catharina Schaller (dates obscure). When Jacob 1774 and his wife Susanna b. 1790 died childless, their nephew Reuben Mertz Fuchs/Fox bought their land at auction.
All are buried at New Jerusalem graveyard, including Reuben's wife, Carolina Rohrbach Bush Mertz. I have more information on Reuben. If you need it, tell me to look in my New Jerusalem file.
