I don't know whether there is a physical relationship or not, but there are Merryman family members in central Texas. As far as I can see for now, my great grandparents came from Camp Creek, Texas. I believe they first settled there in the 1800's. My grandparents seem to have lived in New Baden, and my parents stayed close to the area for their entire lives. The Franklin, TX county seat has a long list of family records. This is in Robertson County. I haven't seen them in over 10 years, so can't give you exact names, but I've noticed a pattern of naming where the names Benjamin Franklin, Lewis, Arthur, William, Clyde, Claude, and a few others are constant throughout the generations.

My older brother's name is Lewis Arthur. My father's name is Lewis Edward. My uncle's name is Clydie Claude and his grandchild is named Benjamin Clyde. I have an uncle named Benjamin. My second oldest brother is named William David and my father's oldest brother was William Pressly. I'll find some links for you and post them.
