Its possible! that our Merryman are the same, it seem in the
early 1800 this family stayed close to other Merrymans
1820 Census listed only head of house,and Littlebury Merryman is the only one listed.
1830 Census list only head of household, listed are:
John Merryman
Alexa Merryman possibly Alexander Merryman
Jesse Merryman (our family)
Juda Merryman
Robert Merryman
I've look at Alexander Merryman in the 1850 censes he was born in approx 1796 in Virginia
Jesse Merryman was born approx 1808,and is in every censes as being born in Tennessee.
Tennessee was a very young state I believe 1796 was when it
succeeded into the Union, but my history is rusty, this could could be wrong.
So i'm wondering if these Merrymans could be brothers and
originated from Virginia.
