Hi Shirley,
Could your Mary be a sister of my Charles or his father, Charles Jr. Could she be the dau of Charles Jr's. brothers William (born @ 1838)or Benjamin (born @ 1840).
Charles Jr. was born 22 May 1733 and his son, Charles was born about 1780-82 in Granville Co., NC.
Charles Jr. had two sisters; Mary born 28 Jan 1834-35 and Millicent born 07 Dec 1836.
Charles Jr's. father, Charles Sr. was born about 1708 and died May 1789 in Granville Co., NC. Charles Sr. could have been her father, not likely, but very possible. The age difference between your Mary and Charles Sr. is 59 years. But he already had the above Mary and Millicent. Unless the first Mary died before your Mary was born. Sometimes when a child died and another child is born the name of the one who died is given to the new child born.
My great grandfather (Bryant Henderson MERRIMAN) was 61 when my grandfather (Willis MERRIMAN) was born.
