Hello Joseph,

Thanks for your reply.

Here is what I have - first off, I am looking for Mary (Prindle) Lowden who was born ab. 1850 and married John Augustus Lowden in 1865. In 1875 he divorced her for desertion, reported that she was living in Middle Patent, NY and that she was having various affairs. The only man actually named in the divorce suit was a George Merritt reportedly living in Greenwich at the time, 1875. I don't know why he specifically named this one person since he was charging that she was with more than one... the only thing I can figure is that naming this person carried weight with the judge.

Of course, that is years and generations ago... but Mary Prindle has been my brick wall for 35 years. I found this Merritt forum and thought perhaps that her name might ring a bell with someone. I would like to learn more about her. She appears nowhere in the census before or after she was married to John A. Lowden. Any help would be much appreciated.
