Hi Scott, Thank you for replying to my message. The M in the middle of Charles name might have been Madison or Monroe since they were the presidents near the time he was born in 1818. The Charles you refer to was Charles Johnson Merriman and his son with the same name. They remained in NY. My Charles came to Michigan around the same time as Benoni Merriman and family. I thought he might be Benoni's son but I can't find evidence that he had a son named Charles. I have ruled out several of the otisco Merriman's except Benjamin. My Charles married Paulina Burbank. Any help you can give me will be very appreciated! Thank you.
