CARROLLTON - Mildred M. Merriman, 82, of Carrolton died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Sherman, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Bates Cook. She married Charles E. Merriman in 1938 in Bowling Green, Mo.; he died in 1989. Three sons, Harvey L. Sr., Charles and Troy Merriman, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Merriman was a homemaker and member of Eldred American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors: three daughters, Retha Johnson of Carrollton, Elizabeth Curtis of Jacksonville and Brenda Clendenen of Eldred; two sons, Russell Merriman of Eldred and Gordon Merriman of Waverly; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, Carrollton. Burial: Dayton Cemetery, south of Eldred.
